BUSS ChemTech to deliver a second phosgene production unit to India.
Key features
Two skid units (phosgene generator and safety absorption) with integrated control system.
As with many, or even most, projects, it began several years prior to executing a contract. Assistance with initial CAPEX planning led to subsequent discussions to clarify battery limits and scope of supply. Then came face-to-face meetings and ultimately the first formal quotation with detailed technical and commercial condition a full three years after first contact. All-in-all, a very typical pace for such significant capital project, especially for first-time partners. As the saying goes: "only fools rush in."
Both parties brought professionalism and realistic expectations to the relationship. Nonetheless, it was still a pleasant surprise to watch the project proceed with such ease and not experience the usual bumps in the road that normally accompany such a journey. The engineering progressed steadily - basic/conceptual engineering from BUSS ChemTech and the OSBL and detailed ISBL engineering from the client - and smoothly transitioned to the purchasing and construction phases. The OSBL is nearing completion and the site will soon be ready to receive the skids. A few short weeks later, erection will be complete and start-up and commissioning can begin in late Summer.
